Day Ten
Epilogue - Heading Home

Summary of our trip.

The Pluses:

1. Our tour was flexible enough for us to visit the above.  557 was one of the highlights.
2. The food was almost uniformly good.  Three squares a day.
3. Luxury accommodations throughout.
4. They broke up train riding into shorter segments - Baolu appreciated this.
5. Having our luggage taken care of the entire trip was a huge plus.
6. Goldstar class on the Denali Star train was definitely worth it.  Each ticket included a complementary meal and two free drinks from the bar! What's not to like, for a couple borderline alcoholics?
7. Molly, Rachel and Ben were the best guides and motor-coach driver we could have hoped for.  They held the whole thing together and made it enjoyable.  Many thanks, guys!
8. It was nice to just sit back and concentrate on my photography of the trains.

The Minuses:

1. The tour was a bit long (ten days).  We were starting to drag along towards the end.  We generally plan our own trips for just seven days or less.
2. When traveling with a group, you move with the group (no leaving early to go back to the room, etc.).
3. The constant Seattle-type rain.  Which we pretty much expected, having lived there for many years.

Towards the end, we became homesick. And I caught a nasty cold. By Day Ten, it was time to leave The Final Frontier and head back to the land of Famous Potatoes.
