VIA 1 FAQ

Riding VIA Rail Train #1 "The Canadian" from Toronto to Vancouver.

The following is the story of our trip across Canada by brothers Mark (Langley, BC) and Lindsay (Post Falls, ID).  As children in the 1960's, we had ridden this same equipment on its original Canadian Pacific route from Vancouver to Winnipeg.

Before (1967) and After (2025).

VIA Rail's flagship, The Canadian, now runs on Canadian National tracks (the red line) via Saskatoon, Edmonton, Jasper and Yellowhead Pass.
