The Western Star was GN's
secondary passenger train which ran between Chicago, Minneapolis/St. Paul and
Seattle. It replaced the former heavyweight Oriental Limited using the
original 1947 streamlined Empire Builder equipment and ran from 1951 to
1970. The "Star" stopped at Glacier National Park (in season)
while the Empire Builder bypassed these stops (Belton and East Glacier).
